I have been incredibly impressed by her meticulous attention to detail.  I am a manufacturer myself and fancy myself able to adjudge precision workmanship and scientific discipline. On one occasion Maryam finished a crown and found that the space to the next tooth was not sufficient to admit the passage of dental floss.  She spent 40 minutes moving the teeth to ensure that the space would allow for flossing. She had 2 other patients waiting but would not finish with me until she had got it right.  I will never again complain if she keeps me waiting; she is probably tied up getting another job right.  This is a very good thing. I have been told that Dr Lidum, founder of the clinic, is equally fastidious.  Adelaide famously has one degree of separation. Word gets round, and businesses and consultants are duly rewarded or punished for their quality and integrity. I now live mostly in Malaysia.  I am getting an implant done at Lidums at a cost of at least twice what I would pay in Malaysia. That is fine by me.  I will never again get any dental work done by a dentist who is not named Maryam.  I am confident that she will use the best materials, and the best laboratory, and take whatever time is needed to ensure an impeccable job. And in ten or twenty years, when I am retired here in Adelaide, I can count on her, and on Lidums, being there and being able to deal with any problems that might arise. The Dental Face Lift FAQs

Is the Dental Face Lift the same as a surgical facelift or cosmetic injectables?

No, it’s an entirely different approach. A surgical facelift tightens skin; injectables add volume to specific areas. The Dental Face Lift works from the inside out, by restoring teeth to their correct height and position, which rebuilds the underlying structural support that the face depends on. This is why skin-deep treatments alone often can’t fully address the lower face if the teeth and bite aren’t right, the foundation isn’t there. The Dental Face Lift requires no surgery, no needles in the face, and no recovery downtime.

How do I know if the facial changes I'm seeing are caused by my teeth?

The key signs are changes concentrated in the lower third of the face: lips that have thinned or turned inward, deeper lines around the mouth and chin, a jaw that appears to have shortened, or a feeling that your face looks “collapsed” when you’re not smiling. These changes often accelerate after tooth loss or years of wear, and they don’t respond well to skincare or fillers because the underlying cause is structural. Will the result look natural, or will it be obvious I've had dental work done?

Because the Comprehensive Smile Analysis takes into account your lips, facial features, skin tone, age, and personality alongside your teeth, the outcome is designed to be harmonious rather than dramatic. Many patients find that people notice they look refreshed or well-rested without being able to identify exactly why.

Is there any downtime, and what does recovery look like?

There is no surgical downtime. Treatment is carried out across dental appointments, and most patients continue normal daily activities throughout. During the treatment phase, temporary restorations are worn while the final work is being crafted, and these may require a brief adjustment period. Once final restorations are placed, most patients adapt quickly. Any sensitivity or adjustment discomfort is typically minor and short-lived.

How is the Dental Face Lift different from a standard smile makeover?

A smile makeover primarily addresses the appearance of teeth, colour, shape, alignment. The Dental Face Lift goes further by specifically targeting the vertical dimension of the face: how much support the teeth provide to the lips, cheeks, and lower facial structure. It’s indicated when tooth wear or loss has caused the face to change beyond what cosmetic tooth improvements alone can address. In many cases the two overlap, a Dental Face Lift will also improve the smile, but the treatment planning starts from a different, more structural place.

How long do the results last, and what ongoing care is needed?

The restorations used in a Dental Face Lift, typically crowns, veneers, and in some cases implants, are designed for long-term durability, often 15 years or more with proper care. The facial support they provide is not dependent on ongoing maintenance the way injectable treatments are. Regular dental check-ups, good hygiene habits, and a night guard if you grind your teeth are the key factors in protecting the result.
